Michael has practiced law since 2011; before coming to Loebsack & Brownlee, he was the staff attorney for Charleston Pro Bono helping low income Charleston residents with family, housing, and estate law. While at Pro Bono his case load was at the intersection of family law, domestic violence, housing, and various forms of socioeconomic abuse.

Michael has an AAS from the US Air Force, a BS from the University of North Carolina, and a JD from Charleston School of Law. The practice of law is his third career, after IT and aircraft maintenance. He is a graduate of the South Carolina Bar's Leadership Academy, is a court-certified mediator, and is an accredited veteran attorney by the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, US Supreme Court Bar, and the Charleston County Bar Associations.

Michael has called Charleston home on and off since 1995 and spends his down time raising his family and wondering when he'll get to drive the Nurburgring again.
